7 Objections I hear for not having a personal brand shoot.

In my business, I always hear objections to having a personal brand shoot. To be completely honest, I felt the same way before I had mine. When I had my personal brand photoshoot, it helped me in ways I never could have conceived until I actually had one. I found every excuse under the sun not to have my own shoot but eventually decided I had to practice what I preached and have my own. It was so worth it! It changed me, from feeling uncomfortable showing up in my business to empowered!

Here are the 7 objections I hear to having a personal brand shoot and how to overcome them.

1. I want to lose weight first

This is the number one reason I hear from clients for not wanting to have their photo taken and I get it. You might feel like you are too heavy to have your photo taken. However, a good photographer will know how to make you look your best. I will spend a lot of time posing you so that you look your best for the photos. I will position your body so it looks flattering. Remember, you will never be as young as you are today, and one day you will look back and think – look how amazing I looked…

2. I hate my picture being taken. I feel so awkward…

Another reason I hear all the time is people fel awkward in front of the camera. It is my job as a photographer to make you forget about the camera by making the session fun, and relaxed so that you actually enjoy yourself. Most of my clients come back again for a second and third shoot because it was so much fun. I would love to offer you the same experience.

3. I’m not photogenic

Sometimes we can be our own biggest critics. Remember other people often see you differently from how you see yourself. It is my goal to make you shine and look good in your photos and I know just how to make you look your absolute best. After that, it is up to you to be brave and share the photos with the world. We are our own biggest critics.

4. My skin is terrible.

One word – photoshop!

5. I don’t know what to wear

When I work with you there is a lot of planning included in a shoot. This includes planning what to wear and the do’s and don’ts when planning your wardrobe.

6. My house/office is not beautiful enough for photos

This is an easy problem to solve. I will help you to find pockets within your home that you can dress for a shoot. There is also the option of making use of a location. A location could be more suited to your needs. I can advise you on this and we can plan locations together.

7. Brand photography is a luxury not a necessity.

In a recent survey, I found that many business owners think like this. However, if you want your business to be a success you need to include an element of yourself in the images and your brand and personality. Hiring a professional is going to get you better results but you can also create your own brand photography until you have the budget to use a photographer.

Be bold, to build a fearless brand you have to embrace the real you and put yourself out there for the world to see. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed if you do!
