Imperfect Action is better than no action! This has been my mantra for the last few weeks. I have always been a procrastinator, but I am also a perfectionist. I don’t like making mistakes.

Entrepreneurs are meant to be risk takers, good at failing and then getting back up again. Learning from our mistakes, thinking outside the box and then giving it another go. How can you do that if you don’t act?
I can spend hours working on a free piece of content to try and grow my email list, I will make sure the fonts are on brand, the colours are perfect the text is on point and the images are excellent – only not to share it or promote it because I haven’t perfected it yet.
Just do it!
Nike uses the catchphrase “Just do it.” In my opinion, it is one of the most note-worthy taglines of our time. Our brains are wired to second guess ourselves, to hesitate, to come up with excuses but if we act before there is a chance to hesitate we will achieve far more than we would if doing nothing at all!
In the book by Mel Robbins called The-5-second-rule, she talks about how our brains are short wired to come up with doubts and excuses. Mel speaks about a tool that she uses to launch her into action called The 5-second rule. She describes it as a rocket launch to take action. The minute you think of an idea you say 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and you move to act on it. This stops your brain from coming up with excuses and catapults you into action.
Take action first – only then will the fear subside.
Fear is the number one reason why we don’t act on what we know we should. Scared of failure, afraid of making mistakes, nervous of what others think. But if you act, the fear is gone.
There will never be the perfect time to start, grow or own your own business, there will always be a list of reasons why you shouldn’t. The truth is that the most perfect time to do it is right now.
The most perfect time to do it is right now!
